The red dot on the box of needles indicates that the needles have been sterilized via gamma ray sterilization. The sticker starts off being yellow, and once it has been exposed to the gamma sterilization rays at a certain level of radiation, the sticker turns from yellow to red. This allows us to see at a glance that the needles in the box are safe and ready to be shipped to your clinic.

This is a critical step in our quality assurance procedures.

]]> La stérilisation par rayons gamma utilise le rayonnement pour stériliser les aiguilles, et généralement le seul sous-produit de ce processus de stérilisation est l'ozone. En comparaison, la méthode conventionnelle de stérilisation des aiguilles utilise l'oxyde d'éthylène, qui a été classé comme cancérigène pour les humains et dont l'exposition à long terme est connue pour être nocive pour la santé humaine et l'environnement. Un autre avantage de la stérilisation par rayonnements gamma est qu'elle dure 5 ans!

]]> La nature "magnétique" du clip n'affecte ni n'améliore pas la stérilité elle-même. Le fait que le clip magnétique maintient fermement les tiges des aiguilles entre la couche supérieure et la couche inférieure du sachet réduit efficacement la circulation de l'air et la contamination éventuelle des tiges des aiguilles. L'effet net est que les tiges des aiguilles restent dans un environnement propre plus longtemps qu'avec d'autres méthodes d'emballage.

S'il reste des aiguilles non utilisées dans la pochette à la fin de la journée, nous recommandons de les placer en toute sécurité sur le comptoir de la clinique ou le plateau à l'aide de l'Acubase et de les couvrir pour les protéger pendant la nuit. Pour les périodes de plus de 24 heures, nous recommandons de jeter les aiguilles inutilisées.
